Game Music Festival - Brand Identity
Develop a refreshed brand identity representative of the chosen existing festival, the Game Music Festival.
Initial Research + Moodboard
Researched the history, events, and mission of the festival, determining the target audience to be lovers of live music with a special interest in video game scores. Determined what wasn’t working
with the current branding and created a mood board to guide the new aesthetic of the brand.

Mood Board
Proposed Logos
Developed and proposed three logo concepts. Focused on video game history, sight and sound, and music symbolism to drive each concept.
Final Logo
The chosen final logo uses the treble clef as the main symbol, using the same curved forms to mimic the silhouette of a video game controller towards the bottom. This element also reflects the hands and movements of a conductor.
Typography + Color Palette
Chose a simple black and white color palette to reflect sheet music, as well as the clean and simple aesthetic of many orchestra groups. Chose typefaces that had a clean and classical look, but could be manipulated to have a more modern feel.
Instagram Profile
Created an Instagram profile to show how the branding may be used on social media. Highlighted quotes from speakers, various events, and strong images from the concert.
Festival Schedule
Developed a schedule showcasing how the logo could be adapted as its own graphic form used within the background as well as its own informational symbol.
Metro Posters
Created a poster series in which the forms of the original logo are expanded
upon, creating consistent movement across each poster. Brought in strong
images of conductors from past events, tying in a new visual element.
